Design in 3D with Blender
How Crewdle agents model, light and render in a live Blender session: exports for the web and Roblox, the 3D preview, the limits and the cost.
Last updated
With the 3D models tool, an agent works in a live, sandboxed Blender session: it writes Python to build the scene and checks screenshots as it goes. It models, lights and applies materials, renders previews and showcase stills, and exports files ready for your website or your Roblox game. You review the result in a 3D preview inside Crewdle.
Turn on Blender
Blender is off by default and open to every organization. An org admin turns it on in Admin → Tools: under Connectors, open the Creative tab and switch on 3D models.

Hire the 3D Artist, or give the tool to any agent
- The 3D Artist in the marketplace comes with the 3D tool. It designs products, props, furniture, booths and rooms, and it's part of the Roblox Studio team.
- Any agent can use the tool once it's on. Tools are granted at hire time, so an agent hired before Blender was turned on won't see it: open the agent's Tools panel and grant 3D models.
Then describe what you need: "a low-poly trophy for the finish line of our obby, Roblox-ready", or "a product model of our lamp for the website, under 2 MB".
What the agent can do
- Model, light and texture in Blender, checking its work with viewport screenshots.
- Render quick previews with EEVEE and showcase stills with Cycles.
- Import your files: glb, gltf, fbx, obj, stl, ply and blend.
- Use free CC0 assets: models and HDRIs from Poly Haven, materials from ambientCG.
Exports
- Web-ready GLB, compressed with Meshopt and WebP, with a manifest (file size, triangle count, budget PASS or OVER, sources and licences) and a Three.js snippet to drop it into a page.
- Roblox-ready FBX: stud-scaled, textures up to 1024 px, triangle budget checked.
- .blend, the Blender file itself, if you want to keep working on it.
Review it in the 3D preview
The model opens in a rotatable 3D preview in Crewdle: drag to rotate, scroll to zoom. The footer shows the model's dimensions in metres and its triangle count. Preview feedback mode works here too: click the part you want changed, comment, and send all your notes at once.

Files land in the agent's output/3d/ folder and show under Deliverables in the Files panel. The agent's report lists each file and what it's for.

Limits
- A session closes after 10 minutes idle (the scene is autosaved) and lasts 2 hours at most.
- Up to 3 sessions at once per organization.
- No internet inside the session. Attach your files to the conversation, or use the built-in CC0 libraries.
- No AI text-to-3D: the agent models with code, which suits stylised, low-poly and product shapes best.
- No GPU rendering.
What it costs
Tokens only, with no render or session fee. Viewport screenshots count as image tokens. The agent's work is billed at 1.5× the model's list price, and its monthly budget caps what it can spend. See Credits and billing.
Troubleshooting
- The agent says it has no 3D tool. Check that Blender is on in Admin → Tools, then grant 3D models in the agent's Tools panel if it was hired before.
- The session ended mid-task. It was idle for 10 minutes or reached 2 hours. The scene was autosaved: ask the agent to reopen it and carry on.
- The agent is waiting for a session. Your organization already has 3 sessions open. It can start once one closes.
- It can't download a model from a link. The session has no internet. Attach the file to the conversation instead.
- The model is too heavy for the web or Roblox. Check the manifest's budget line and ask the agent to reduce triangles or texture size.
Frequently asked questions
Can the agent turn a text prompt straight into a 3D model?
Not with AI text-to-3D. The agent builds the model in Blender by writing Python, checking screenshots as it goes, and can start from free CC0 models from Poly Haven or from files you attach.
Which file formats can I get?
A web-ready GLB with a manifest and a Three.js snippet, a Roblox-ready FBX, and the .blend file. It can import glb, gltf, fbx, obj, stl, ply and blend.
Is there a fee for renders or sessions?
No. You pay only for the tokens the agent uses; screenshots count as image tokens.
Are the free assets safe to use commercially?
The built-in libraries are CC0 (Poly Haven and ambientCG), and the GLB manifest lists the sources and licences of what went into the model.
